BikeRunner partnering up with Coop

Coop consists of almost 900 physical stores in Denmark – such as SuperBrugsen, Kvickly, 365discount (former Fakta) and the restructured Brugsen (former Dagli’Brugsen/LokalBrugsen).

It is possible for a customer to buy a bicycle in any of their physical stores. Coop is estimated to sell 20-40 000 bicycles a year through their stores. A large part of these bicycles were before sold through their e-shop, and a bicycle in a box was sent directly home to the customer. The customer would then asseble it themselves, or bring it to a local bike store. Their e-shop is now closed, as part of a buy-up of Coop by OK. And therefore all bikes are now sold directly through the physical store.

Even if the actual store doesnt have the bike on storage, any local store can order it to the shop so that the customer can pick it up there. Because of this new process, most customers expect the bike to be assembled in the store before pick-up.

The customers pay extra in the store for assembly, but the service has proven challenging for Coop – because local bike stores are reulctant to help with the task (Coop is their competitor).

Therefore – Coop has now partnered up with BikeRunner, to have Runners come to their local stores and assemble bicycles. 2026 is a pilot year for the project – where BikeRunner will have to prove we can handle the task.

Important info for Runners

Coop order process

Coop has gotten their own order page at BikeRunner.dk, where they can only order assembly. The Coop orders will come into your app as a “normal order” – but marked with “Partner: Coop”. It is the local store that makes the order (and it is also their contact information in the order – address, phone etc). So please use that contact info if you need to coordinate your arrival.

The products in the order will be shown as  “Samling af ny cykel” (Assembly of new bike) and/or “Samling af ny el cykel” (Assembly of new electrical bike). Please note that you can click on these products in your app, and you end up in a Coop tutorial of what exactly what you need to do – including tutorial videos from Coop.

According to our contract with Coop – BikeRunner is expected to be able to deliver a Runner to assemble bikes in the store within 2 days (within geographical areas that we cover of course – see map on BikeRunner front page). If we are not able to come within 5 days, they will cancel – and it would basically also be a breach of contract. If you are hindered to come to the time you have said, to a Coop order you have accepted, you have to let BikeRunner know immidately.

So please be very aware of these orders, and prioritize them. Also – these orders are also very good/lucrative for you as a Runner:

-The bikes are very easy to assemble (made so that basically anybody is able to do it – estimated time max 30 min)

-You will be working inside (warm, access to toilet etc)

-Often they will have several bikes to be assembled at the same time

-The price for the service is very fair

So if possible – please also check if it might even be lucrative for you to go outside of your zone for these orders. Click into the order and read in the comments section how many bicycles they have actually ordered for. It might be lucrative for you to travel further than you normaly would to take it.

Prices for assembly of bikes at Coop:

1-2 bikes: 399 kr. pr. bike.
3-5 bikes: 299 kr. pr. bike.
6+ bikes: 199 kr. pr. bike.

BikeRunner has added 2 new products specifically for Coop in your list, when you create an invoice in your app. Please only use these 2, in an invoice for Coop. The products are shown in the invoice product list as “COOP samling af almindelig cykel” (Coop assembly of ordinary bike), and “COOP samling af el cykel” (COOP assembly of electrical bike). We do not make any difference between ordinary bike and electrical bike in terms of price, because there is such a little difference in terms of what you need to do – the electricals are already assembled and just needs to be tested.

Please note that there is a discount in terms of the number of bikes you do at the same time, that you will have to add yourself correctly to the invoice! (the automatic price on the invoice line is set to 399kr, so you will have to change that manually if you have 3 or more bikes!)

Payment on Coop orders

The invoice will be sent to Coop headquarters, not to the local store. Meaning – there is no point in discussing prices etc with your local contact at the Coop store. If you are in a situation where you are asked to do something by the store, besides regular assembly of a bike – please contact BikeRunner support for assistance and price.

When you create an invoice for a Coop order – the payment option is therefore set to “Send invoice to customer”. Coop has quite a long payment deadline, but the payment process is automatic – meaning, there will never be a case where they do not pay. If you need to be pre-payed before Coops deadline, please contact BikeRunner support for assistance.

Please also contact BikeRunner support at any time, and immidiately, if you have any problems or questions with a Coop order.

This is a great opportunity we are very happy to present to you, so let's work together for this being a great project for all of us!
